Protecting Industrial Control Systems
The Industrial Control Systems Joint Working Group (ICSJWG), formed under the DHS Control Systems Security Program, estimates that ICS cyber security lags seven to eight years behind that of the corporate and commercial world. This means that software and hardware vulnerabilities that were identified and mitigated years ago for most individuals and companies may still be putting critical infrastructure entities at risk. If exploited, hackers could shut down these systems or worse, force them to run in an unsafe manner.
The ICSJWG recommends a layered approach to protecting ICS. Click the link below to learn what the ICSJWG calls the Top 5 Layers of Defense.
