Network Equipment Management Solution (NEMS)
FoxGuard’s Network Equipment Management Solution, or NEMS, is a combination of software and services that provides added security and centralized control of switches, routers, and other network equipment. NEMS uses the Remote Authentication Dial In User Service, or RADIUS, authentication protocol to build on the directory functionality of FoxGuard’s Access Management console (required). It allows administrators to set user credentials in a single location and enforce them across the entire network, ensuring proper authorization, authentication, and accountability. The FoxGuard team offers validation services for NEMS deployments.

Features:
-
Centralized management of validated network equipment - e.g. passwords and configuration changes
-
Encrypted administrative communications - NEMS disables Telnet, which transmits passwords in plain text, and enables SSH, which encrypts incoming and outgoing data.
-
Ability to update firmware from the DisPatch Server (required)
-
Centralized log aggregation for all network equipment
-
Centralized backup and recovery of network configuration files
Benefits:
-
More efficient and effective management and support of network equipment
-
Enhanced control and visibility of network equipment access
-
More secure communications
-
Ability to grant temporary access to equipment without compromising long term security
-
Configuration revision history and traceability for network devices
